LaakhForm
We are LaakhForm, a design studio reviving laakh, India's centuries-old lacquer craft. Every piece we create is hand-turned and hand-lacquered by artisans, bringing traditional technique into contemporary form for modern homes.

A handcrafted lamp built with warm materials and soft ambient light.
A hand-carved openwork bowl casts intricate shadows across the room while the illuminated oak-grain column glows beneath it, turning traditional lattice carving into a quiet, modern centerpiece of warm light.
We are LaakhForm — every product we make is built around laakh, the natural lacquer resin that has coloured and coated Indian craft for centuries.
Lacquer, called laakh in Hindi, is a resin secreted by the tiny lac insect. Melted, pigmented and hand-pressed onto a spinning wooden form, it hardens into a glossy, richly coloured shell — once used to finish everything from toys and bangles to furniture across India.
That craft is fading as mass production takes over. We work directly with artisans who still turn, layer and polish lacquer entirely by hand, so this old art keeps catching the light — one piece at a time.
Every piece below is hand-turned and lacquered to order. Hover a name to see it come to life.
